CFD Analysis of an Earth Air Heat Exchanger

摘要

A 3D steady model based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been developed using the FLUENT simulation program to predict the thermal performance EAHE systems. The model developed is validated with the experimental correlation using Dittus−Boelter equation and Blasius equation with the exception that the CFD, in general predicting slightly lower bound solution for Nusselt number and upper bound solution for friction factor. Temperature and pressure contours are plotted using the CFD which depict a realistic picture of temperature and pressure distribution in the EAHE domain.
