Abstract

In this manuscript, the thermo-hydraulic performance of car radiator tubes has been studied. As we know, the heat generated in the car engine is carried out by the coolant, and coolant flows inside the radiator tube; when the air blows over these tubes, the coolant cools down. Additional cooling to the coolant enhances the average performance of the car engine. Therefore, the better thermal performance of car radiator is one in which more perfection can be obtained. The thermal performance of the radiator can be enhanced by various methods. In this manuscript, the thermal behaviour and the mixed convection for the radiator tube profile are studied by varying the tube inclination with the horizontal axis. The one fourth length of the actual radiator tube is used in the current study. One bend is provided at the middle of the tube, and the tube inclination to the horizontal is changed from zero to 45 degrees. The obtained numerical results state that better heat transfer arose at 40 degrees of inclination. However, the pressure loss increases with the increase in the degree of inclination.
