MIXED CONVECTION IN A TWO-SIDED LID-DRIVEN POROUS CAVITY SATURATED WITH NANOFLUID
Abstract
This work investigates the heat transfer performance of a two-sided lid-driven cavity filled with Cu-water nanofluid saturated porous media. The top and bottom walls are cold and translating. The sidewalls are partially heated at the middle and rest portions are insulated. A concept of speed ratio is introduced in this work to analyze the effect of different moving velocity of top and bottom walls. In-house code is used for the investigation which ranges for Richardson number (Ri = 0.1−20) and Darcy number (Da = 10-4), porosity (ε = 0.6), speed ratios (λ = -2−2), nanoparticles concentration (∅ = 0−0.1) keeping Reynolds number (Re = 100) fixed. The study reveals that the heat transfer rate increases with the increase of speed ratio and for all the values of the speed ratio, average Nusselt number increases.
