PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF MICROCHANNEL COUNTER FLOW HEAT EXCHANGER USING DIFFERENT NANOFLUIDS
Cooling of miniature size electronic components has become challenging for designer in the development of integrated circuits, owing to this microchannel heat exchanger is one of the thermal management technique which has attracted the researcher in the past decades. In the present work, hydrodynamic and heat transfer characteristics of micro channel heat exchanger is numerically analyzed. A Three Dimensional Micro channel heat exchanger using different composition of Al2O3, Diamond and CuO nano particles with water as base fluid, for Reynolds number ranging between 50 and 150 is considered for present work. Further the influence of micro channel heat exchanger with ribs is investigated. A non-dimensional parameter comprising of heat transfer and pumping power, namely performance index is used to evaluate the performance of micro channel heat exchanger. Results reveal, heat transfer is highly enhanced using nano particles with pressure drop penalty and micro channel heat exchanger with ribs has larger influence on performance index. The Governing equation for fluid and solid domain are solved using FLUENT.
