Abstract

In this experimental study, the subcooled flow boiling of Al2O3/ water nanofluid along a minichannel has been carried out in an experimental setup developed for this purpose. The experiments have been conducted for the test section in the experimental setup to study the effect of fluid velocity and liquid subcooling of the coolant on boiling heat transfer coefficient and critical heat flux (CHF). The experimental results reproduced for different mass fluxes and subcooled temperatures to investigate their effect on the heat flux, surface temperature, and average heat transfer coefficient. The experimental results show that the surface heat fluxes increase with increase in the fluid velocity of the coolant.
