要約

The present article deals with the influences of the Inverse Leidenfrost effect (ILFE) on the cooling rate of small cylindrical objects quenched horizontally in the liquid pool. An effort is made to understand the effects of ILFE on quenching; a glass cylinder of millimeter dimensions is gently quenched or placed over a liquid pool of water. The governing equations like continuity, momentum, and energy equations are solved analytically to encapsulate the physics behind this intricate phenomenon. First, the momentum equations are combined after eliminating the pressure term by defining the stream function; then, the resulting equation is solved for velocities by employing the method of separation of variable. The characteristics of radial and tangential velocities, and pressure field in the vapour film with the radial and tangential direction are analyzed. Additionally, the influence of cylinder radius on the vapour film thickness and heat transfer coefficients is examined.
