要約

Ground source heat pump system (GSHP) uses ground as a reservoir for exchanging heat to/from a conditioned space. The present research work is focused on the analysis of ground heat exchanging behavior of GSHP in the northern part of India for heating mode operation. The analysis has been carried out on a 5-ton GSHP system installed at IIT Roorkee. Out of six boreholes (BHEs), five are double U-tube type and connected in series configuration and one is single U-tube that is solely dedicated to determine the ground properties by conducting thermal response test (TRT). The preliminary test (TRT) has been conducted to investigate the ground properties. The experimental results show that the thermal conductivity of ground formation is found to be 1.82 Wm-1K-1. To evaluate the thermal performance of the GSHP system, experiments were carried out for two hours of continuous operation during peak winter conditions. The heating effect produced by the heat pump varies between 23 kW to 28.55 kW and an average heating effect for two hours of continuous operation is found to be 24.12 kW. As for the trend of heat transport is concerned, it decreases as the duration of the experiment is increased due to continuous decrease in the thermal potential of the ground. Coefficient of performance of the system of 5-ton capacity varies between 3 and 4.2 and average COPsystem is estimated as 3.61.
