要約

In this article we used, cost-effective surface modification technique to develop thin and porous layer coating on SS316 surface for application of boiling heat transfer. Initially coating of alumina nanoparticles produced by boiling of surface in Al2O3 + water nanofluids at three different concentrations 0.001, 0.01 and 0.1 vol. % for 15 minutes. However, in this method, the stability of the deposited layer in the real application is questionable. Therefore, a two-step electro-deposition technique has been used to produce a stable Cu-Al2O3 coating and well-defined structures. Coating thickness and stability mainly depends on the composition of the electrolyte, current density, and applied time. In the first step high current density (400-600 mA/cm2) applied for duration of 20 s, where in the second step current density 60 mA/cm2 supplied for 2700 s duration. Minimum concentration of copper sulfate 0.2 M and sulfuric acid 0.5 M found to develop stable and controlled structures. Characterization of modified surface has done, with the help of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS) and surface roughness measurements.
