Effects of Thermal boundary conditions in a Porous enclosure with Gambrel roofing-A numerical study
要約
In this research article, we numerically examine natural convection heat transfer considering a porous enclosure considering a gambrel urban residential complex roofing. The enclosure walls with inclination is taken as colder and bottom wall is assumed hotter. This basically invokes the winter related boundary conditions. The left vertical wall of the enclosure has symmetrical boundary conditions. The governing equations are obtained using Brinkman-extended Darcy mathematical model to account for the porous medium considering two-dimensional steady and laminar natural convection in an air-filled (Pr = 0.71) enclosure with gambrel roofing. Further, a finite element-based strategy is utilized to solve the governing equations. The fluid flow and heat transfer attributes are accordingly scrutinized and the achieved results are represented by contour of streamlines, isotherms, average and local Nusselt number (Nu) considering different Darcy numbers (Da) in the range of 10-4 ≤ Da ≤ 10-2 and Rayleigh numbers (Ra) in the range of 104 ≤ Ra ≤ 106 for winter day temperature setting. The results clearly depict that the effect of Da is indicative in proclaiming the Nuonly for higher values of Ra and the variation is more reflective for larger values of Da.
