Resumo

Injector elements deliver propellants in the required amount to the thrust chamber of the liquid rocket engine. They often possess a complex and intricate geometry in order to achieve flow parameters such as flow rate, mixture ratio, pressure drop and droplet size. 3D printing technology is an emerging technology for realising injectors which is time and cost effective as compared to conventional methods of fabrication. In this report, a 3D printed swirl coaxial element is evaluated for its droplet size along with the flow and pressure drop characteristics. The results are compared with those of a conventional swirl coaxial injector.
