Numerical analysis of liquid desiccant regenerator with corrugated surface

The current study is focused on the improvement of regenerator
performance by employing a corrugated surface. A 2-D numerical model is developed for solving transient conjugate heat and mass transfer using ANSYS FLUENT 2022R1. The validation of the model is performed by using results from the published literature. Parametric analysis is performed by varying inlet conditions of the fluids. The results depicted that the use of a corrugated surface enhanced the regeneration effectiveness and rate significantly in comparison to the flat plate. Regenerator effectiveness and regeneration rate improved by 10.03% and 0.1937 g/s-m2 respectively.
