Investigations on HVAC system operation using dynamic temperature conditions: A case study of auditorium
Resumo
In this work, numerical simulations have been performed to
study the effect of dynamically changing temperature on
energy consumption, cooling demand and carbon footprint.
Excel was used along with the cooling demand equation, air
flow rate equation and temperature constraints for
optimization of the conditions. Simulations have been carried
out by optimizing the indoor temperature with respect to the
outdoor conditions while keeping the indoor temperature
within the comfort zone. The simulations have been done for
4 cases at 4 different times (temperature conditions) in a year. The cooling demand for each case has been modelled and
plotted. It has been observed that among the three setting the
optimized setting outperformed the fixed mean temperature
and the fixed lower temperature in all the cases, while
maintaining the quality of the air.
