In an effort to conserve energy consumption in industrial and sector applications of refrigeration system, various endeavours have been made by researchers. Both theoretical modelling and experimental studies have been done. Though there are vast majority of works made available by different scholars, in this survey of the literatures, more focus is given to the experimental investigations on film condensation over outside of single tubes. Most of the experimental studies showed that the fin geometry was found to be having a significant influence on the condensation heat transfer rather than other parameters and conditions. Various configurations, including 2D and 3D outer surfaces and internal ridged tubes made of copper as well as other low thermal conductivity material, were studied extensively. The relation of the various influencing factors versus the condensation heat transfer coefficient is presented for different refrigerants that are currently made available commercially.
