摘要

On account of an increased usage in high-rise buildings, high-strength concrete (HSC) has obtained much attention in the past decade. Fire response has become a critical issue in HSC as recent findings revealed the severe deterioration of mechanical properties when exposed to high temperature. In this paper, a numerical study on the behaviour of reinforced concrete (RC) beams in steady state condition under different temperatures (27°C-600°C) is described. A comparative study on the usage of HSC and normal strength concrete (NSC) is also carried out for a curved beam structure. The RC beam is modelled based on the concrete damaged plasticity approach, and the behaviour of the structural element is evaluated under an accelerated thermal environment. The numerical studies conclude that a drop in the capacity of HSC beam is perceived compared to NSC after exposure to elevated temperatures
