摘要

In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to investigate the local thermal behaviour of a single elliptical jet on a concave and flat surface. In the present study, elliptical nozzle with two aspect ratios are considered (AR = 1,4) for both surfaces. A thin sheet of stainless steel with 15 microns in thickness is used as a heating surface along with the thermal imaging camera. Heat transfer characteristics are studied for the various plate to nozzle distance (h/d = 2-6) involving Re between 2800-5700. Enhancement in the stagnation region is noted with the higher aspect ratio nozzle. Comparison of flat and concave surfaces is also carried out, and it is observed that degradation in heat transfer for the concave surface. Thermal contours suggested that with an increase in the aspect ratio, higher heat transfer is observed near the stagnation region.
