The influence of percentage of wavy wall in turbulent wall jet on thermal and flow characteristics has been studied numerically. The computational work has been carried out using
low Reynolds number RNG model. The portion of wall is made
wavy from the leading edge from 10% to 100% and the results are compared with the plane wall jet. The amplitude of wavy wall is 0.8a and the Reynolds number is kept 15000 for all the cases. The results obtained from the present study shows there is an increase in the heat transfer with the increasing % of wavy wall till 30% of wavy wall. Further increase in portion of wavy wall leads to decrease in the heat transfer. The maximum increment of 26.27% has been noticed for 30% of the wavy wall in comparison to the plane wall case.
