THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY MODULES WITH PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS
An analytical model has been proposed for thermal management of electric vehicle battery modules with phase change material (PCM). Present model considers the melting analysis of the PCM. In this model, the entire phase change process is divided into three stages such as: completely solid PCM, partially molten PCM and completely liquid PCM. In all stages, the closed form analytical solutions for the temperature distribution have been obtained in the analysis. Good agreement has been observed between present model and available experimental results.
