ANALYSIS OF TIME DEPENDENT RADIATION COMBINED WITH TIME DEPENDENT CONDUCTION HEAT TRANSFER IN A SLAB
The time dependent radiative heat transfer coupled with conduction has been analyzed in the present paper. The one-dimensional transient radiative transfer equation associated with participating media has been solved using finite volume method (FVM). To discretize the transient term fully-implicit scheme is considered, while the first-order derivative term has been treated by STEP scheme. Further, the transient energy equation has been solved considering both axial heat conduction and radiation heat flux. In the present analysis, one side of the medium is subjected to collimated beam whereas the other side is considered to be a cold wall. The effect of various radiation parameters such as optical thickness, scattering albedo, anisotropic factor and emissivity on reflectance, transmittance and temperature distribution are discussed.
