要約

The flow behaviour and heat transmission are investigated in this study in periodically grooved channel by introducing fillets at sharp corners for a steady unidirectional flow. Following flow contraction, fillets guide fluid flow toward channel walls, resulting in a reduction in the downstream reversed flow zone. In the grooved channel with fillet, the fluid flow properties as well as the heat transfer qualities are explored using the finite volume technique in this study. The numerical solver is validated with literature results and grid independence test is being performed to ensure a mesh independent solution. Finite volume based commercial package Ansys fluent is used with face meshing technique. To investigate the physics of the flow, a thorough numerical investigation is being carried out. The inclusion of fillets at sharp corners improves heat transfer, although the improvement in heat transmission to pressure drop increase ratio decreases as the Peclet number increases. A correlation is being proposed between Nusselt and Reynolds number for filleted configuration. The predicted and calculated values are observed to have a reasonable match.
