要約

The van der Waal's driven rupture of a thin viscous film laden with insoluble surfactants flowing down an incline is considered. A linear stability analysis of the system is carried out in the lubrication limit and two distinct modes of instability are identified. The modes are then found out to be Yih and Marangoni modes with additional dynamics imposed upon them due to the rupture process. The stability of rupturing films for flowing and stationary films with/without surface active agents are compared and a possible stabilization mechanism is put forward.
