Resumo

The goal was to quantity the uncertainties on the laminar burning velocity measured using an expanding spherical flame method due to the mixture preparation and extrapolation schemes. Data analysis was performed on the experimental data of premixed refined producer gas-air mixtures at 1-4 bar, 300K and different equivalence ratios. The error induced on the LBV due to mixture preparation was: (a) quite high for most of the mixtures due to the utilization of higher range absolute pressure transducer, (b) hydrogen rich mixture showed larger error due to its higher calorific value. Of the analysed five different extrapolation schemes to estimate unstretched LBV, NE, NQ and linear schemes were less sensitive to the range of data available for extrapolation. The critical radius at which hydrodynamic instability that got initiated was estimated using an automation algorithm without any human bias. It showed that producer gas with higher mole fractions of H2 and CO preponed the onset hydrodynamic instability as compared to mixtures with larger mole fractions of CH4 due to lower values of Lewis number.
