Resumo

A thermoelectric cooler (TEC) is a solid-state device which is extensively used in cooling applications and thermal management systems. They also find application in thermal control of spacecraft subsystems such as optical and microwave detectors. However, modelling their performance analytically during initial design stages requires intricate knowledge about their internal structure and properties of the semiconductor materials. For a given TEC, these parameters aren't readily available. The present study focusses on formulating a modelling strategy by extracting these parameters in terms of a new set of pseudo-parameters for any arbitrarily selected TEC from its performance curves and simulating the performance in a commercially available software. The model is also validated by reproducing various performance curves using the simulation results.
