EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF THERMAL CONDUCTANCE OF ON AXIALLY GROOVED HEAT PIPE
Resumo
Axially grooved Aluminium Ammonia heat pipes are widely used in the spacecraft thermal control applications. Heat pipes transfer the waste heat from the remotely placed electronic packages to the heat radiators with minimum thermal resistance. Assessing the thermal conductance of a heat pipe through analytical means is very intricate. This paper describes the experimental evaluation of thermal conductance of an axially grooved heat pipe. This paper also highlights the observation that the thermal conductance of a heat pipe follows a similar trend as that of the heat pipe figure of merit (M), in the given operating temperature range.
