Natural convection heat transfer is critical in many engineering applications as well as in real-world functional circumstances. This paper outlines the thermodynamic performance of natural convection heat transfer from a pair of two horizontally aligned tilted square cylinders. Numerical simulations are performed using a finite-volume method in the laminar flow regime of Grashof number (Gr) and Prandtl number (Pr) spanning in the range of 10 to 105 and 0.71 to 7, respectively. The effect of horizontal spacing (S/W) between the cylinders and tilt-angle of the square cylinders (δ) on both natural convection and entropy generation are also elucidated in this work. The entropy generation is reproduced non-dimensionally in terms of the Bejan number (Be). The results obtained from the present study indicates that the Be is almost unity for low Gr, whereas it decreases with increase in Gr. The Be is also found to be higher for high Pr compared to that of a low Pr. At δ = 45°, the Be is marginally higher than other tilt-angle positions. Furthermore, optimum S/W corresponding to maximum heat transfer is also identified for various parameters considered in this study. The Be is marginally lower at the optimum horizontal spacing.
